My first Public Art commission! I was selected to create 10, 10x5ft canvas panels that were installed at the construction site of the new light rail station off Pac Highway in Kent-Des Moines, WA. (A block away from Dick's Burgers)
I painted these over the 2020 Spring/Summer months. I actually have never painted anything large scale before this. I really had no clue what I was doing going in, but I was up for the challenge!
Each panel needed to be painted with gesso(primer), then had to dry for a day. Then painted and let dry for a few days. Then I had to lay a varnish down, which helps protect the paint. Each panel took about 1 1/2-2 weeks to complete(total panels). A lot of work, but kept me busy during the Covid 19 pandemic.
